BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGER
Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) is looking for a project manager with baggage handling (BHS) design and/or installation experience in airports. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, or overseeing BHS/CBIS projects. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, and project team members.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be entrusted with the challenging yet rewarding task of managing the day-to-day activities of one or more projects. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Interface directly with airport leadership
- Coordinate with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Regional Planning and Deployment Coordinators and associated contract personnel
- Oversee and manage the design, construction and implementation teams
- Mediate issues between the design team and the construction and implementation team
- Facilitate and document meetings
- Facilitate and provide periodic updates to the project stakeholders
- Review the design team’s comments on RFIs and submittals for compliance with the contract documents
- Attend commissioning and testing of the BHS to ensure compliance with the contract documents, TSA, and other requirements
- Schedule and monitor project deliverables
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years experience in the BHS industry (design, coordination, and/or project management)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills, including preparing PowerPoint presentations
- Solid understanding of TSA’s Planning Guidelines and Design Standards (PGDS)
The Project Manager will be expected to take ownership of one or more projects and work with minimal supervision. This role may allow remote work at times, but the Project Manager can be assured of a supportive work environment, with the company’s expectation of full-time on-site presence.
