Project Description:

Security Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS) is one of TSA’s crucial enterprise contracts executing their mission of effectively delivering and implementing security technology and screening equipment to all federalized airports nationwide to thwart attacks to our nation’s transportation network, specifically aviation. As a subcontractor to Vertex Aerospace (Formerly Raytheon Technologies), Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) is providing site leads for the deployment of Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) equipment for integration with airports’ Checked Baggage Inspection Systems (CBIS) in support of the TSA’s mission of protecting the Nation’s transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce through deployment of security technology to airports nationwide.

The STS Site leads report progress and project status to the TSA’s Regional Deployment Coordinators. Primary tasks include:

Confirmation that the Integrated Local Design Team (ILDT) and its contractors are adhering to the original intent of the TSA approved 100% design
Project management and scheduling
Review of contractor invoices for compliance with Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with TSA.
Commissioning and Testing
Delivery and Decommissioning
Cybersecurity Review

The above tasks and interface with TSA afford STS staff specific, up to date insight into the industry’s current practices and TSA’s new technology/future goals regarding CBIS projects. The numerous simultaneous sites monitored for TSA also allow STS staff to maintain working, hands-on relationships with multiple baggage handling industry, TSA, and third-party contractor personnel.
