Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) owns and operates Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Vanderlande has entered into a development agreement with LAWA for design and construction of the new Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) at the existing Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) building. Besides Baggage Handling System (BHS), the scope of work includes modifications of the existing building and various existing building services. The new CBIS at the existing TBIT building is a consolidation of all existing security screening operations which will be decommissioned and demolished once the new CBIS is fully operational.

As a member of the baggage handling system (BHS) Design-Build (DB) team, Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) is providing BHS and TSA subject matter expertise and design oversight for the new CBIS, housed in a brownfield site. The scope of services includes:  

• Oversight of all BHS & CBIS design for TSA compliance.
• TSA submittal preparation including BHS designer/OEM support to ensure TSA PGDS CBIS design and submittal compliance.
• Development of the Basis of Design Report (BDR).
• Flight schedule analysis/verification.
• Development of Contingency and Configuration Management Plans.
• Development of Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA).
