Project Highlights:

Project Description:
The SAT Terminal Development Program (TDP) will complete a New Terminal, renovate the existing Terminal A, and upgrade and improve the airfield and roadways to accommodate the projected airport growth and needs.
The New Terminal will have a new Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS), Checked Baggage Resolution Area (CBRA), On-Screen Resolution (OSR) Area, Makeup/Sortation, Baggage Claim, and Federal Inspection Station (FIS). The space in the CBIS can accommodate up to six (6) Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) in case bags from Terminal A and/or B need to be screened in the New Terminal. The domestic claim area consists of 5 claim units and space for an additional device in the future. The international claim area consists of 2 claim devices and space for an additional device in the future. This project also considered the feasibility of screening the bags checked in at Terminals A and B in the New Terminal CBIS.
As a trusted member of the Freese & Nichols Project Management Office (PMO) team, Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) is providing BHS subject matter expertise for all aspects of the terminal program. For example, this expertise includes design reviews (for both design and construction documentation), providing recommendations for BHS RFI responses, TSA RFV & CCR coordination, and leading the on-site commissioning and testing effort for all static mechanical/electrical, dynamic, functional, and TSA compliance commissioning. STS continues to lead all BHS coordination starting with the initial design to provide recommendations to the San Antonio Airport System (SAAS) for procurement methodologies, coordinating directly with the airlines and airline technical representatives on potential supplemental BHS projects in addition to the current TDP scope, working directly with the designers on design development for SAAS.
The overall scope of services includes oversight of all BHS CBIS design for TSA compliance, monitoring BHS designer and contractor work, technological recommendations, and bid package development oversight.
