This project included a new 4+1 Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) with one reserved future EDS, new Early Bag Storage (EBS), new outbound make-up carousels in the existing bagroom, and three (3) inbound lines and claim carousels in two (2) new claim halls.

As a critical member of the Connect Chicago Alliance (CCA) Project Management Office (PMO) team, Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) provided BHS subject matter expertise for all facets of the project. For the Terminal 5 BHS expansion and replacement, this expertise included design reviews (for both design and construction documentation), recommendations for BHS RFI responses, and coordination of TSA change requests. STS led the on-site inspection and commissioning, and provided testing effort for all static mechanical/electrical, dynamic, functional, and TSA compliance commissioning. STS resolved conflicts during the construction and testing phases and removed roadblocks, as well as proactively engaging with the ORD T5 construction team to complete daily tasks and resolve identified issues during test readiness reviews and Integrated Site Acceptance Testing. This coordination reduced schedule slippage and allowed for timely project completion.
