Project Description:
The Kansas City Aviation Department (KCAD) has entered into a development agreement for the design and construction of the New Terminal at Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The New Terminal is a replacement terminal for existing Terminals A, B, and C, which will be decommissioned, and demolished once airport and airline operations are fully transferred to the New Terminal. The MCI New Terminal will process and house all terminal operations for all outbound and inbound flights at MCI.
As a member of the BHS/CBIS Design-Build (DB) team, Studdiford Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) is providing BHS and TSA subject matter expertise and design oversight for the new Terminal, a greenfield site comprising inbound, outbound, FIS, and transfer BHS. The scope of services includes oversight of all BHS CBIS design for TSA compliance and TSA submittal preparation, including:
- BHS designer/OEM support to ensure TSA PGDS CBIS design and submittal compliance
- Development of Basis of Design Report (BDR)
- Flight Schedule Analysis and verification
- Development of TSA Requests For Variance (RFVs)
- Development of Contingency and Configuration Management Plans
- Development of Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA)
- Review of all TSA submittal documentation
- Participation and insight in design team meetings
The team’s participation has resulted in a 100% TSA submittal approval rate to-date.
