As a trusted partner of Woolpert, STS has been tasked by Houston Airport System (HAS) to perform third-party commissioning, retro-commissioning, and condition assessments on multiple baggage handling system (BHS) and passenger boarding bridge (PBB) projects under the On-Call Asset Management Services,  which includes the IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program (ITRP). The redevelopment program is the largest capital program ever undertaken by HAS and upon completion will provide world-class passenger facilities including a brand-new baggage handling system. STS has several concurrent task orders underway and two completed including:

• Terminal A PBB Condition Assessments scope included assessing several Terminal A Passenger Boarding Bridges, evaluating their mechanical, electrical, visual condition, and operational performance.
• Terminal A BHS Assessment provided HAS with an independent analysis to understand why the new BHS was experiencing unplanned shutdowns and degraded system performance.
• Terminal A BHS Retro-Commissioning is underway to further investigate system failures and to identify deficiencies and opportunities to stabilize and optimize system performance.
• Terminal D FIS BHS Commissioning includes performing third-party commissioning of the new Foreign Flag CBIS/CBRA, and re-controlled outbound sortation.
• Federal Inspection Services BHS Retro-Commissioning includes assessment and performance review of the existing BHS subsystems within the FIS.
