For over 30 years, Larry has been a driving force in baggage system design, technology integration, and commissioning, consistently elevating the standards of performance, safety, and innovation across the aviation ecosystem.
As the founder of Studdiford Technical Solutions (STS), Larry has continued to champion excellence, ethics, and innovation, mentoring the next generation of engineers, designers, and industry leaders.
His contributions have touched nearly every corner of the industry, including:
- Foundational leadership in national security infrastructure planning, serving as a key participant in the TSA’s Baggage Screening Investment Study (BSIS).
- Primary contributor to the development of the TSA’s Planning Guidelines and Design Standards (PGDS)—a cornerstone reference for U.S. airports, engineers, contractors and architects.
- Oversaw the creation of the first-ever Checkpoint Design Guide, shaping how airports approach passenger screening environments.
- Collaboration with the Washington Homeland Security Roundtable to influence TSA’s five-year technology investment roadmap.
He has also served as a Board Member for the IABSC and is a former Chairman of the Airport Consultants Council (ACC)—a testament to his broad influence across aviation’s most respected professional associations.
